Acesulfame K
Acesulfame K, known as acesulfame potassium, is an artificial sweetener that is marked as E950. Acesulfame K is extremely sweet – approximately 200 times sweeter than regular sugar, it has zero caloric value and is water-soluble. It is heat stable and does not decompose upon heating and baking; thanks to these properties it is commonly used in baked products, it is also found in soft and carbonated beverages, jelly freezers, chewing gums, various dairy desserts and products with long shelf life.
